Real spoken French
In speech the famous question loses its front end: « tu deviens quoi ? » or just « tu deviens quoi de beau ? ». Both mean what have you been up to, and both are friendlier than they look.
You will also hear « ça devient n’importe quoi » — this is getting ridiculous — as a general complaint. And the ne goes: « ça devient pas mieux ».
