1. About me and my services

This service is operated by Xavier Leroy, an independent French teacher based in Bangsaen, Thailand, originally from Nantes, France.

2. Who can book lessons

Students must be at least 18 years old to book lessons directly. Minors (under 18) may take lessons only if a parent or legal guardian books and pays on their behalf and explicitly consents.

By booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or are authorized to book on behalf of a minor in your care.

3. Booking and scheduling

Lessons are booked through the website using my online booking system. You'll see my available times when you book; choose a time that works for you.

Time zones :

All booking times are shown in your local time zone, based on the time zone you've set in your account or browser. Always double-check the time before confirming.

Confirmation :

You'll receive a confirmation email with the join link for the classroom. If you don't receive it within a few minutes of booking, check your spam folder, then contact me.

Joining the lesson :

Please arrive on time. The classroom link works any time after the scheduled start, but I'm only available for the booked duration.

4. Pricing and payment

Current prices are listed on the pricing page.

Prices are in US Dollars unless otherwise specified. Your payment processor will convert to your local currency automatically.

Free trial :

Your first 20-minute trial lesson is free. No payment required. No commitment to book further lessons.

Lesson packs :

Lesson packs are paid in full at booking through my payment processor (currently SureCart / Stripe). Your payment information is handled directly by the processor — I don't see or store your full card details.

Invoices and employer reimbursement :

For students whose employers will reimburse the cost, I can issue an invoice in your name or your company's name with the standard details required for expense submission (VAT number, company registration, etc.). Request this through email before or after booking.

Payment plans :

For larger packs (18-hour or course bookings), payment plans of 2 or 3 monthly installments are available on request. Get in touch before booking to set this up.

5. Pack validity and use

Lesson packs are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Within that period, you can schedule and use lessons at your own pace.

Mixing session lengths :

The pack you buy locks in the per-hour rate. If you bought a 30-minute pack and want to occasionally combine two slots into a 60-minute session, that's fine — just let me know in advance.

Expiry :

Lessons unused after the validity period expire. If your situation changes (illness, job change, family emergency), contact me — I'm happy to discuss reasonable accommodations. I'm not in the business of taking your money for lessons you can't reasonably use.

6. Rescheduling and cancellation by you

Free rescheduling :

You can reschedule any booked lesson up to 24 hours before its scheduled start time at no cost.

Late rescheduling or no-shows :

Lessons rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, or no-shows, will be counted as used. Exceptions for genuine emergencies will be considered case by case.

Pack cancellation :

If you want to cancel a pack you've purchased and have not yet started, contact me within 14 days for a full refund. If you've taken some lessons but not finished the pack, the unused portion can be refunded within the same window, less a small administrative deduction if applicable

7. Cancellation or rescheduling by me

I may occasionally need to reschedule a lesson — illness, family emergency, internet outage, or unforeseen circumstances. When this happens:

• I'll notify you as quickly as possible

• We'll find an alternative time that works for both of us

• If we can't reach a workable rescheduled time within a reasonable period, the lesson will be returned to your pack as unused (or refunded if your pack has already concluded)

This is rare, but it happens. Mutual flexibility on both sides keeps things running smoothly.

8. Code of conduct

I want lessons to be a positive experience for both of us. I expect students to:

• Treat me and the lesson with respect — no harassment, discriminatory language, or abusive behavior

• Be reasonably punctual

• Be prepared (camera/microphone working, materials ready if I've sent any in advance)

• Communicate openly if something isn't working

In turn, I commit to:

• Treating you with respect, patience, and honesty

• Being prepared for our lessons

• Being on time

• Giving you my full attention during your booked time

I reserve the right to end a lesson and refuse further bookings (with refund of any unused portion) in cases of harassment, abusive behavior, or behavior that makes the working relationship untenable.

9. Intellectual property

Lesson materials I create :

Manuals, homework, exercises, custom worksheets, and similar content — are my intellectual property. You may use them for your own personal study but may not redistribute, resell, or publish them without my permission.

Lesson recordings :

Lesson recordings (if you opt in) are for your personal study only. Please don't share them publicly or with third parties.

Whiteboard content :

Whiteboard content generated collaboratively during lessons is shared between us. You're welcome to download, print, or save it for your own use.

Your work materials :

Your work materials (anything you share with me — emails, documents, your writing, etc.) remain yours. I use them only for the lessons you're paying for. I do not republish or share them with anyone.

10. Confidentiality

Anything you share with me during lessons — your work situation, your personal goals, your real materials, your conversations — is treated as confidential. I do not discuss specific student information with other students or with third parties.

This is particularly important for professional students who may share sensitive work materials. If something is genuinely confidential, tell me before sharing and we'll work with appropriate care (or use generic examples that mirror your situation instead).

11. No guarantee of specific outcomes

I do my best to help every student progress, but language learning depends on many factors that are outside of any teacher's control — your background, your time available, your practice between lessons, your specific goals, and many others.

For that reason, I do not guarantee specific outcomes — such as reaching a specific CEFR level (A2, B1, B2, etc.) by a specific date, passing a specific exam, achieving "fluency" within a particular timeframe, or any other measurable result. What I commit to is competent teaching, honest feedback, and reasonable effort on my part.

If you're working toward a specific certification or exam, I'll help to the best of my ability, but the result depends substantially on you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• I provide my services "as is" without warranties of any kind beyond what is required by law

• I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of my service

• My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months preceding the claim

• I am not liable for technical issues caused by third-party services (LiveClass, your internet connection, your device, etc.) — though I'll work with you to find alternatives where reasonable

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (such as for gross negligence or willful misconduct).

13. Termination

You can stop using my services at any time. If you have unused lessons in a pack, the refund and cancellation rules in Sections 5 and 6 apply.

I reserve the right to terminate our working relationship — with refund of any unused lessons — in cases of:

• Violation of the code of conduct

• Abuse, harassment, or threats

• Fraudulent payment activity

• Behavior that makes the lessons untenable

This is rare and I do not invoke it lightly.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be determined — likely Thailand or France based on legal advice]. Any disputes arising from these Terms or from my services will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law (such as EU consumer protection law) gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

Before initiating any formal dispute, I encourage you to contact me directly so we can attempt to resolve the issue informally. Most concerns can be addressed through conversation.

15. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change.

Material changes :

Material changes (changes that affect your existing rights or obligations) will be communicated to existing students by email, and you'll have a reasonable period to review them before they apply to you.

Minor changes :

Minor changes (clarifications, formatting, etc.) may be posted without separate notice.

Your continued use of my services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
