💡 Les points clés
For HOW you do something, the star is en + gérondif: « il est parti en courant » (he left running). Same subject, same time.
For transport: en for enclosed vehicles (en voiture, en train), à for open ones you sit ON (à pied, à vélo, à cheval).
Communication uses par: par téléphone, par mail, par la poste. And « avec » + a tool: « couper avec un couteau ».
