1. Les pronoms COD

💡 Astuce anglophone
lui = both to him AND to her — the gender doesn’t matter for COI !
Verbs with à + person take COI : parler à, téléphoner à, répondre à, donner à…
COD or COI ? Ask the verb : je vois qui ? → COD · je parle à qui ? → COI.
