💡 Les points clés
Frequency adverbs usually go right after the conjugated verb: « je vais souvent au cinéma » (not « souvent je vais »).
In the passé composé, short adverbs slip between the auxiliary and the participle: « j’ai souvent voyagé ».
jamais needs ne: « je ne bois jamais de café ». On its own, « Jamais ! » = Never!
