🔑 The language point

  • Il faut + ingredients = “you need” — THE recipe formula: il faut du beurre, des œufs.
  • Notice the partitives everywhere: du pain, du jambon, de la crème — “some” of everything.
  • Recipe verbs to catch: couper (cut), ajouter (add), mélanger (mix), faire cuire (cook).
