The conditional is also the sound of French politeness — « je voudrais », « pourriez-vous » — so mastering it doesn’t just add grammar, it changes how polite you sound in a bakery.

Find the future stem: assiér- — futur stems always end in -r. That r-sound is how your ear recognises the future.
Add the endings — they are exactly the verb avoir:
Conditionnel = same stem assiér- + the imparfait endings (-ais, -ais, -ait…): « je assiérais » = I would…
