Which future the French actually use — spoiler: mostly the easy one.
In conversation, « je vais faire » beats « je ferai » nine times out of ten. The futur simple survives for predictions and promises: « ça ira », « on verra ».
« ça va le faire » (it’ll work out), « on verra bien » (we’ll see), « t’inquiète, ça ira ».
