Like « donner », showing needs a « à » before the person.
montrer follows the same frame as donner: montrer quelque chose à quelqu’un. « Je montre les photos à mes parents. » The thing comes first, the person follows à.
It is a plain regular -ER verb. The imperative montre-moi — show me — is one of the first useful commands you can build, and it works in almost any situation.
