rendre at A2 — the past tenses

« rendre » — jump to your level:A1A2B1B2C1C2Native

The participle is « rendu » — an -RE ending, not -é.

Rendre in the past

-RE verbs form their past participle in -u, not : rendu. So « j’ai rendu les clés ». The same pattern gives vendu, attendu, entendu, perdu — another reason to learn the family as a block.

It takes avoir, so no agreement with the subject. The imperfect is regular from the nous stem: je rendais.
