Les pronoms at B2 — l’ordre des doubles pronoms

« les pronoms personnels » — jump to your level:A1A2B1B2C1C2Native

Two pronouns at once? There’s a strict order — and the imperative flips it.

The order

Before the verb: me/te/se/nous/vous → le/la/les → lui/leur → y → en. « Il me le donne », « je lui en parle », « il y en a ».

The imperative flip

Positive orders put pronouns AFTER, joined by hyphens, and me→moi: « Donne-le-moi ! », « Vas-y ! ». Negative keeps the normal order: « Ne me le donne pas ».
