Written French inverts even with noun subjects: « Pierre viendra-t-il ? » (the noun stays, a pronoun echoes it). Rhetorical litterary turns: « Que ne ferait-il pas pour elle ? » (what wouldn’t he do), « D’aucuns se demandent si… » (some people wonder).
